Why do arabic people in America have the Islamic Khilafah sign on their cars?

I've seen it a few times and I read it was a sign of Jihad and Al-Qaeda being in a Jihad against us, wouldn't that mean they're supporting it, kinda like how people had the american flag after 9/11, I also want to hear your opinions.
