Asian eyes get bigger as the person ages?

i know an asian person that had slanted eyes when he was a kid but now when he grow up, he has super big eyes! Why? How did his eyes turn so big? I don't see that happen to people from other race! What is so unique about asian eyes? He didn't have any plastic surgery because it happens to my mom too!
