Would i gain anything by doing my Foundation Degree in Teaching and Learning in School?

I work in school as a T/A, i am 40 years old and i was wondering if i would benefit by doing my FD, im having to fund it myself which would cost me �3600 what doors would it open for me if i do it and are the benefits worth it. I don't know what to do for the best i don't want to pay out and study for 3 years and still be doing the same job without any extra money.
