My Monroe is pierced at a slight angle and the top part of the piercing is hooking on my gums, is that normal?

I got my Monroe done on 6/23/11 which from today is only 3 days ago. The back part of the piercing is at a slant / and every time I talk it getting hooked on my gums. Will it sit flat once I change to a shorter bar??? I'm freaking out here!!
